THE GAME GUIDE

Rebus Riddles

Explore 54 visual riddles with relaxed guessing, two-stage hints, clear explanations and optional challenges.

How to Play

Read the arrangement as well as the words. HEAD above HEELS means head over heels. Stay with Warm-up, choose Tricky or Brain-bender, or mix the sets.

Relaxed lets you explore with free guesses and hints. Challenge charges 25 possible points per hint. Reveal explains a puzzle without marking it as solved.

Rules

Answer with the pictured English word or phrase. Case, punctuation and spacing are ignored; listed alternate phrases and single-digit number equivalents are accepted. An unrelated phrase does not count as a correct answer.

Each puzzle offers two hints: a nudge, then an explanation of the arrangement. Wrong guesses never cost points.

Earn up to 100 points per puzzle in each style. Replays improve that puzzle’s best rather than repeatedly adding points. Seen, attempted, revealed and solved are tracked separately.

Refresh restores your riddle. Recently seen clues are avoided; after seeing a set, the game explains that you are reviewing it.

Strategy & Tips

Say what you see out loud. Notice whether a word is under another, running backwards or split into pieces.

Count repeated words and inspect the empty space. Try prepositions such as in, on, over and between before requesting a hint.

Worked example: when HEAD sits above HEELS, read the position as part of the phrase: HEAD is over HEELS, giving “head over heels.” Typing only HEAD misses the relationship. Start by describing what is unusual about the arrangement, then turn that description into a familiar English expression.
