Who operates PlayPorch

PlayPorch is operated by Atli Erlendsson, based in Iceland, trading as 2nd Edition Games.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, the name you provide, your message, and any attachments. We use this information to respond, resolve the issue, and keep relevant correspondence. Please avoid sending sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.

Saved games and preferences on your device

PlayPorch uses browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB) to remember selected preferences and game progress. This is stored on the browser and device you use, not in a PlayPorch account. The game code does not upload these saves to PlayPorch.

• Jigsaw: one puzzle and its progress in IndexedDB browser storage, plus a small localStorage progress checkpoint for safe reloads. The checkpoint contains no photo image. Built-in puzzles save automatically where storage is available. Personal photos are processed on your device without upload and are temporary by default. Choosing “Save this puzzle on this device” stores the cropped photo and progress locally. “Delete saved puzzle” removes that stored copy; the current photo remains in the open tab until replaced or closed.
• Solitaire: the current and starting deal, undo and redo history, elapsed time and game statistics.
• Word Sort: the active deal and move history, Journey level, stars, personal bests and sound preference.
• Word Ladder: the current puzzle and path, hints, difficulty, recent puzzles, wins and best score.
• Word Hunt: the unfinished board, discoveries, hint use, remaining time, recent boards and best scores by mode.
• Rebus Riddles: the current puzzle, difficulty, mode, hints, puzzles seen, attempted, revealed or solved, and scores.
• Backgammon: board orientation and computer difficulty.
• Sudoku: puzzles, entries, notes, move history, elapsed time, daily records, selected mode and language.
• Site navigation: your chosen guide language.

You can remove these records in your browser’s settings by clearing site data for playporch.net. This also removes saved progress and best scores; it does not undo emails you have sent us. Private browsing or blocked storage can prevent progress from being retained. Saves do not automatically transfer to another device.

Loading the website

Opening a page sends a request to our hosting service, Cloudflare, so it can deliver the website. This involves connection information such as your IP address and the requested page. Local game saves are separate from those website requests. For information about Cloudflare’s handling of information, see Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Advertising and your choices

PlayPorch does not currently load Google advertising or advertising-consent scripts. The AdSense ownership-verification tag and ads.txt record do not themselves load ads or advertising cookies.

If Google advertising is introduced, we will update this notice to describe the vendors, cookies and choices actually used. Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits to this and other websites. Information about Google's advertising practices and personalisation choices is available at Google advertising technologies and My Ad Center.

Where consent is required, the advertising setup will offer choices before the relevant storage or processing begins and a way to revisit those choices. Saving a game on this device is separate from consent to advertising. There is no advertising consent to accept on this site today.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page when the site’s data practices change and revise the date above. Material changes that require new information or consent will be addressed before the relevant processing begins.
