Play free Mahjong Solitaire with 144 tiles, three layouts, hints and unlimited undo. Every starting deal has a solution. Match free tiles to clear the board.
Choose Turtle, Tower or Twin gardens, then select two matching free tiles to remove them. On smaller screens, swipe the board sideways to reach every tile. Keyboard players can use Tab and Enter or Space.
Hint highlights an available pair. Undo restores your last pair and can be used repeatedly. Restart repeats the same deal; New game creates a fresh one and unlocks the layout selector.
A tile is free when no tile covers any part of it and at least one horizontal side is open. A gap above or below does not make a tile free. The board starts with 144 tiles: four copies of each of nine Bamboo, nine Characters and nine Dots values, four winds and three dragons, plus four flowers and four seasons.
Ordinary tiles must match exactly. Any two flowers match each other; any two seasons match each other. Flowers do not match seasons. Your first removed pair locks the layout until you start a new game. Remove all 72 pairs to win.
Every deal is built with a complete legal solution. Other choices can lead to a dead end. Use Undo to explore another path; a hint identifies a legal pair but does not guarantee that your remaining board is solvable.
Look for pairs that expose covered tiles or open a long row. Removing two easy edge tiles is less useful if neither frees anything underneath.
When three or four copies of a tile are available, compare which pair opens the most space. Keep an eye on matching tiles trapped beneath one another. Undo is useful for testing a different choice without losing the original deal.
Mahjong Solitaire is a single-player tile-removal puzzle, distinct from multiplayer Mahjong. This Play Porch edition uses a full 144-tile set and three layered arrangements, with a traditional Turtle silhouette as the default.
Tiles feature pixel artwork by Blueeyedrat, with accessible names for every suit, wind, dragon, flower and season. Games run in your browser, without an account or download.
