THE GAME GUIDE

Núlla

Weave low cards through a hidden row in Núlla. Face cards score zero, and your separate secret card counts toward the final total.

How to Play

Choose the player count, row size, and optional extra zero rank, then deal. Rows remain hidden initially. You may peek at your own separate secret card; it cannot be exchanged.

On your turn, draw from the stock or take the top discard. Discard it immediately or swap it into slot 1 of your row. The replaced card becomes your new held card.

Continue the chain into the next slot, or discard the held card to end your turn. Slots must be visited from left to right without skipping. Replacing the final slot automatically discards the card removed from it.

Rules

Play with two to four players and five or six row cards. Twelve-card rows are available with two or three players. Each player also has one unchanged secret card.

Jacks, queens, and kings always score zero. Aces score 1; other cards score their number unless their rank was selected as the extra zero rank. All suits of that selected rank score zero. The default extra zero rank is 9.

The player who draws the final stock card completes their turn. Then everyone reveals their row and secret card. Add both together: the lowest total wins, and equal lowest totals tie. Taking the discard does not deplete the stock.

Strategy & Tips

Remember what you place into each row position. This lets you decide whether to stop a chain before replacing a useful zero or low card.

Judge a swap by its effect on the whole chain. A card taken from slot 1 may improve slot 2 even if the first replacement is only a small gain.

Peek at your secret card to understand the points you cannot change. Near the end of the stock, prioritize reliable reductions over a long speculative chain.

About This Game

Núlla, also presented as Flétta in this edition, combines hidden-card memory with a sequence of swaps. Version 1.3 includes configurable rows, zero-rank scoring, a separate secret card, and computer opponents that plan from remembered and visible information.
